BUT of course there are still a significant proportion of EV drivers and households who do not have opportunity to charge at home and this is a focus on many in the industry.
Zapmap highlights Field Dynamics Consultancy work on charge point coverage and density published in 2024 and shows on a local authority level the number of households who do not have a driveway which are within 5 mins walking distance from a public charger.
And it also shows other solutions available from on-street charging to through-pavement charging to the potential role of shared community charging through organisations such as Co Charger.
