BYD gives ATTO 3 a serious upgrade with more power, faster charging and extra space

BYD has confirmed UK pricing for the updated ATTO 3 EVO, starting from £38,990, with more range, quicker charging and a noticeable step up in performance over the outgoing model.

Two versions are available. The Design (£38,990) uses a single motor with 309bhp, while the Excellence (£42,730) adds all-wheel drive and increases output to 443bhp. That cuts 0-62mph to just 3.9 seconds in the top model, putting it closer to performance EVs than typical family SUVs.

Both models use a larger 74.8kWh LFP battery, delivering up to 316 miles of range. Charging has also improved, with speeds up to 220kW, meaning a 10-80% top-up in around 25 minutes. For fleets, that translates to less downtime and more flexibility on longer routes.

Practicality has been improved as well. Boot space increases to 490 litres, and there’s now a 95-litre front boot, giving drivers more usable storage than before.

Inside, the standard kit is strong even on the entry model, including a 15.6-inch touchscreen with Google built-in, wireless charging, a heat pump and a 360° camera. The higher-spec Excellence adds features like a head-up display, heated rear seats and a panoramic roof.

Under the skin, the move to BYD’s latest platform and a new suspension setup is designed to improve ride comfort and handling, while the battery is now integrated into the structure of the car for added rigidity.

Orders open on 2 April.
