Cupra updates Tavascan with new entry model and improved in-car tech

More accessible pricing, better usability and smarter features headline 2026 update

Cupra has updated its all-electric Tavascan for 2026, adding a new entry-level model and making a series of changes aimed at improving day-to-day usability.

The headline addition is a new base version with a 58kWh battery and 190PS motor, offering up to 270 miles of range. That brings the Tavascan more in line with everyday company car needs, sitting below the existing 286PS and 340PS versions with larger 77kWh batteries.

Inside, the changes focus on making the car easier to live with. A larger driver display and a move back to physical steering wheel buttons replace the previous touch controls, while the infotainment system now runs on Android, improving speed and responsiveness.

Climate control has also been reworked, automatically adjusting airflow based on passengers and sunlight, with voice control available.

New features like a digital key via smartphone and vehicle-to-load capability add flexibility, particularly for shared or multi-driver use.

Overall, the update makes the Tavascan feel less like a tech showcase and more like a usable everyday EV for fleet drivers.
