DAF Trucks has launched a limited-time electrification offer, pledging diesel cost parity for 100 of its XD Electric 350 FT 4x2 tractor units. The initiative promises equivalent Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) over five years compared to a conventional diesel model at 42-tonnes GCW, based on standard UK operating lease funding.
The offer — open until 15 December 2025 — applies to trucks built by 30 April 2026 and registered by 31 May 2026. A dedicated DAF webinar on 21 November will outline the scheme in detail.
DAF’s five-year TCO modelling, factoring in tax incentives, the Plug-in Truck Grant, fuel and maintenance savings, and zero road tax, indicates operators could even achieve lower weekly running costs than diesel equivalents, assuming 100,000km annual mileage.
Powered by a 525kWh LFP battery (462kWh usable), the XD Electric delivers up to 500km (310 miles) on a charge and supports DC fast charging up to 325kW. It includes an eight-year battery warranty and features DAF’s High Sleeper cab, 4-Star TfL Direct Vision Standard rating, and Digital Vision System.
“This offer changes the conversation around electric trucks,” said Louis Jones, EV and Connected Services Director at DAF. “We’re showing fleets that electrification isn’t just viable — it’s commercially sound.”
