Developing the EV Landscape

The EV landscape is developing at breakneck speed, with the rapid installation of charging infrastructure and the brand disruption caused by challenger vehicle manufacturers. These changes are set against the uncertainty of soaring energy costs and the residual value risk posed by unprecedented volumes of EVs due to return to the market from 2024.

360 Media Group recently asked six of the leading EV experts to share their wish list of developments to stimulate the uptake of electric vehicles:

  • roll out of infrastructure across the UK, spread it into areas that need it most
  • in the number of rapid and ultra-rapid charging hubs
  • networks working together to make payments seamless
  • coordination on charging infrastructure between local authorities, energy sector and charging point operators
  • transparency on what infrastructure is planned for the future
  • the grants application process seamless for government incentives
  • the energy crisis so that fleets can plan the cost of ownership
  • the blockage on vehicle availability and reduce lead-times
  • for used EV market to provide RV certainty for the long-term
  • Further collaboration between OEM’s to get product into the fleet market with more affordable models, support, and initiatives to aid the transition
