E.ON Next has reduced daytime electricity prices across its EV tariffs, giving drivers more opportunities to save when charging at home rather than relying solely on overnight rates.
The changes apply to the Next Drive Smart and Next Drive Fixed tariffs, both aimed at EV drivers with home chargers. E.ON Next says customers using Next Drive Smart for off peak charging could save an average of £509 a year compared with charging under the energy price cap. Drivers on Next Drive Fixed could save around £485 a year.
Next Drive Smart v5.5 keeps its overnight rate of 6.5p per kWh between midnight and 6am, while the daytime rate has been reduced to 29.84p per kWh, down from 31.12p. This equates to an annual saving of £35 on daytime usage. Next Drive Fixed v13 offers 7.5p per kWh off peak, with a revised daytime rate of 31.13p per kWh, delivering savings of £61 a year.
Jean Coleman said the tariffs are designed to give customers flexibility while helping lower energy bills.
Both tariffs come with no exit fees, a free one year Zoom EV subscription, and additional benefits for drivers charging at home.
