Electric Mercedes C-Class promises nearly 500 miles on a single charge

Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that its upcoming electric Mercedes-Benz C-Class will offer a WLTP range of up to 473 miles, putting it among the longest-range EVs announced to date.

That headline figure is the main draw here. For drivers, it means fewer charging stops and more flexibility for longer journeys – something that’s often been a sticking point when moving from petrol or diesel into electric.

Charging speed is another key part of the setup. Using high-power charging, the car can add up to 202 miles of range in around 10 minutes, supported by an 800-volt system and a 94kWh battery. In practical terms, that brings charging closer to the kind of quick stop drivers are used to on longer trips.

Beyond the range, the model sticks to what people expect from a C-Class. It’s designed to be comfortable over distance, with features like air suspension and rear-axle steering aimed at making motorway driving smoother and more relaxed. Inside, there’s a large 39.1-inch infotainment display and a quieter cabin setup focused on long-distance comfort.

There are also a few details that make everyday use easier. A heat pump helps maintain efficiency in colder weather, while over-the-air updates mean the car’s systems can be improved without needing a dealership visit.

UK pricing and full specifications are still to be confirmed, and the model will launch first in the US before arriving in other markets.
