Car Market (SMMT September 2025)

312,891 new car registrations, making a 13.7% year on year increase. The best September since 2020.

Electrified vehicles = 50.8% of all sales; BEVs up 29.1% to record 72,779 units (23.3% share).

Van Market (SMMT September 2025)

47,418 new LCV registrations; 2.1% decrease year on year. Overall market share drops by 9.8% in the year to date.

Electric vans up 41.1% (4,262 units) in a record month, totalling an 8.9% market share.

In the year to date, EV van sales are up 55.9%, totalling 9.1% of all new registrations. This is still short of 16% ZEV mandate target.

Large van sales up 3.2% (69% of market); pickup sales up 7.8%; medium van sales up 25.1%.
