158-mile range and practical load space aim to bring electric vans within reach for more fleets

Ford has revealed the new Transit City, a budget-focused electric van designed to offer a more accessible entry point into its van range.
Sized similarly to the Transit Custom, it’s aimed squarely at urban fleets. A 56kWh battery delivers up to 158 miles of range, which should comfortably cover most daily routes such as deliveries, maintenance work or city-based services. Charging is kept simple too, with a 10-80% top-up in around 30 minutes on DC, or about 4.5 hours on an 11kW charger overnight.

A 150PS front-mounted motor provides smooth, quiet acceleration – useful when moving heavy loads in stop-start traffic.
There are three body styles, including a compact version for tight streets and a larger option offering up to 8.5m³ load space and 1,275kg payload.
Inside, the focus is on ease of use, with a 12-inch touchscreen, smartphone connectivity and standard driver aids like adaptive cruise control and a reversing camera.
