Harvey, a class-one HGV driver at Essex-based Class One Driving, said routine, structure and consistency help him perform effectively in long-distance haulage operations.
“I could literally tell you every pothole, every chipping, every road sign,” he said, describing the level of route familiarity and preparation involved in his work.
The report also highlights operational lessons for fleets around communication and driver management, particularly during high-pressure situations behind the wheel.
Meanwhile, M&H Carriers managing director Fraser MacLean shared how closer communication with families and more adaptive management approaches had helped support younger neurodivergent drivers entering full-time logistics roles.
According to MacLean, attendance and reliability among some neurodivergent employees had exceeded average expectations within the business.
