Holman reduces vehicle repair downtime by 41%, to just 2.24 days

 


Minimising vehicle downtime is crucial in running an effective fleet. Latest figures from leading fleet supplier, Holman, show that the company has reduced the average downtime for vehicles under its management from 3.79 days to just 2.24 days (Year to August 2024).
Holman has significantly reduced vehicle downtime through structural changes, process improvements and investment in specialist expertise. By doing so, it says it has increased customer vehicle availability by over 240,000 hours (30,000 working days) annually.
Holman’s tiered approach ensures straightforward repairs are swiftly handled by downtime controllers, while complex issues are escalated to technical experts.

The downtime control team leverages industry knowledge and problem-solving skills to minimise delays, using innovative solutions like sourcing alternative parts, reallocating jobs within a 2,000-strong vendor network, or exploring different repair methods. Transparency is key, with customers given the choice between faster or potentially cheaper repair options.
