Humax and Rightcharge tackle one of EV fleets’ biggest headaches: home charging reimbursement

One of the quieter challenges in fleet electrification is what happens when drivers charge at home. Tracking costs, separating business and personal use, and handling reimbursements can quickly become admin-heavy.

A partnership between Humax EV Charging and Rightcharge is aimed squarely at that problem.

The combined system links a home charger with a payments platform, automatically identifying the vehicle as soon as it’s plugged in. That means company cars can be billed to the business, while private charging is either separated or blocked. It removes the grey area that often sits between personal and business energy use.

What makes this interesting is the operational impact. Instead of drivers submitting expense claims, charging data is captured and processed automatically, with costs rolled into a single, HMRC-compliant invoice covering home, public and workplace charging.

As more fleets move towards home charging as the default, solutions like this point towards a more scalable model, where reimbursement and cost control happen in the background rather than becoming another process to manage.
