Kia refreshes Niro with sharper design and updated cabin for 2026

Kia has revealed a refreshed version of the Niro, giving the mid sized crossover a bolder exterior and a reworked interior while retaining its familiar hybrid, plug in hybrid and electric powertrains.

The updated Niro adopts the latest evolution of Kia’s Opposites United design language. Changes at the front include slimmer detailing around the bonnet, taller headlights and a more angular grille, giving the car a chunkier stance. Along the sides, the black cladding is less prominent and finished in gloss, while the rear gains a redesigned bumper and slimmer LED light graphics.

Inside, the cabin has been simplified with a thinner dashboard layout and new 12.3 inch infotainment and instrument screens housed within a single panel. Kia has also replaced the previous piano black trim with matte grey materials and introduced a revised steering wheel design.

Technical specifications are expected to remain broadly unchanged, with hybrid, PHEV and EV versions continuing. The hybrid remains the most popular with private buyers, while the PHEV and EV are aimed at fleet customers seeking lower emissions and running costs.
