Lanes Group reduced insurance spend and admin costs by over £300K a year after replacing paper based systems and disconnected software with Samsara’s AI Dash Cams, Vehicle Gateways, Asset Tracking and Connected Workflows platform.
The biggest savings came from installing AI Dash Cams across the fleet. Video evidence cut disputed liability, reduced average claim costs by £1,000 and lowered annual insurance premiums by £250K. Andrew Brierley, Technical Director, said: “We've seen a huge drop in the number of at-fault claims, and a significant improvement in our ability to defend non-fault claims. The data speaks for itself: In the same 6-month period from the previous year, our payouts have dropped by £125,000.”
Drivers now submit incidents through a mobile app, allowing managers to access footage instantly and process claims the same day. What previously took weeks now takes five minutes.
Lanes also digitised 111 forms using Connected Workflows, automating 65,000 submissions per month and saving £60K+ in administration. Asset Tracking devices protect £7.2 million of equipment and have prevented £60K in theft and loss, while 63% of customer complaints are disproven using dash cam footage.
