Lexus reveals luxe 'driving lounge' in the form of the TZ electric SUV

Lexus TZ is set to become the brand’s new electric flagship when it arrives in the UK next year, targeting drivers who want maximum comfort, space, and refinement from a large family EV.

Positioned as a rival to the Volvo EX90 and higher-spec versions of the Kia EV9, the TZ is the biggest Lexus yet and focuses heavily on rear passenger comfort alongside long-distance usability.

For company car drivers and chauffeur-style fleet use, the six-seat layout is likely to be one of the biggest talking points. Instead of a traditional seven-seat setup, Lexus has opted for individual “captain’s chairs” in the middle row, creating more of a lounge-style cabin feel.

The TZ also gets a large 96kWh battery with up to 330 miles of claimed range, while dual electric motors produce 402bhp and all-wheel drive.

Inside, Lexus is clearly prioritising refinement over outright technology gimmicks. The cabin focuses on space, quieter motorway driving, and comfort features including ventilated seats, a panoramic roof, and extensive sound insulation designed to reduce road noise on longer journeys.

While pricing hasn’t yet been confirmed, the TZ is expected to sit at the premium end of the electric SUV market when UK sales begin next year.
