Mazda undercuts its own CX-5 with upgraded model

Third-generation SUV focuses on value, simplicity and everyday usability

Mazda has confirmed UK pricing and specification for the new CX-5, with the latest version starting from £31,550 – undercutting the outgoing model and keeping it competitive in the mid-size SUV market.

For company car drivers, the approach is straightforward. Every version uses a 2.5-litre petrol engine with 24V mild hybrid support, delivering around 40.4mpg and CO₂ emissions of 157g/km. It’s not electrified in the same way as plug-in rivals, but it keeps things simple for drivers who aren’t ready to switch.

There are four trim levels, with higher-spec models offering all-wheel drive and features like a 12-speaker Bose sound system.

Inside, the focus is on usability, with a 12.9-inch touchscreen (up to 15.6-inch) and Google built-in for navigation and apps.

With over 105,000 UK sales, the CX-5 remains a familiar choice and this update keeps it as a dependable, easy-to-run option for everyday driving.
