Medequip has taken major steps to improve the efficiency and performance of its national van fleet through continued investment in digital fleet management systems, real-time reporting, and sustainability initiatives.
In 2025, the company rolled out the Tranzaura FleetNOW asset management system across its UK operations, aiming to centralise fleet data and streamline logistics processes. The platform consolidates all vehicle information into a single digital dashboard, enabling Medequip’s logistics team to monitor, manage, and maintain more than 800 vehicles with greater visibility and control.
AI-Powered Insights and Digital Vehicle Checks
Real-time dashboards powered by artificial intelligence provide a holistic view of vehicle lifecycles, performance trends, and service needs. This centralised reporting capability is helping Medequip drive best practice in fleet operations while promoting a safer, more engaged culture across its workforce.
The new system allows the company to conduct remote, electronic vehicle checks with instant access to diagnostics. This is helping to reduce downtime, improve repair planning, and deliver faster maintenance responses when defects are detected.
Depot-Level Dashboards and Telematics Expansion
As part of the transformation, Medequip has introduced accessible digital dashboards at the depot level. These dashboards provide insights into fuel efficiency, miles per gallon performance, and operational metrics tailored to each location.
Telematics systems have been integrated into six of Medequip’s depots, demonstrating early value, with plans to expand this coverage nationally in the coming months.

Focus on Safety and Incident Management
With improved data visibility, the business has also strengthened its incident management capabilities. Horton said the system enables more effective reporting and investigation of road traffic incidents, supporting drivers with digital tools to reduce repeat occurrences and enhance safety.
Driving Towards Net Zero
Medequip’s fleet currently includes a mix of diesel and fully electric vehicles, with a strategic aim to fully transition to electric by 2030. The move is aligned with both the company’s sustainability ambitions and the specific carbon reduction targets outlined in its individual service contracts.
