From 2026, Mercedes-Benz Vans will launch its modular and scalable Van Electric Architecture (VAN.EA), marking a new era for the brand’s vans.
This EV-specific platform will underpin all future electric van models, replacing the current approach of adapting combustion-vehicle architectures, such as those used for the eSprinter and smaller Europe-only models. Prototypes of VAN.EA-based vans were revealed in October in a camouflaged format, during testing ahead of the 2026 production launch.
VAN.EA has been designed with three modular sections, allowing flexibility for midsize and large vans. The platform supports front-wheel drive for single-motor models and all-wheel drive for dual-motor variants, ensuring adaptability across a range of use cases, including, possibly, RVs.
The VAN.EA architecture enables clear differentiation between luxury private vans and premium commercial vans.
Future models will include high-end family vans, exclusive VIP shuttles and luxurious limousines aimed at wealthy customers. Mercedes-Benz Vans is extending its top-end offerings, effectively defining its own unique segment in the market.
A preview of what’s to come is the Mercedes-Benz Vans' showcar, envisioned as an elegant, spacious, and luxurious limousine designed to meet the highest customer expectations.
This concept will debut in Spring 2025, offering a glimpse into the future of Mercedes-Benz's electric vans.
