Fleet operators now have more sub-£37k electric options eligible for the Government’s highest-rate EV grant, following the addition of four new models: the Alpine A290, Mini Countryman, Renault 4 and Renault 5. All now qualify for the £3,750 Band 1 incentive, doubling the number of models fleets can access at the maximum discount.
They join the Citroën e-C5 Aircross Long Range, Ford Puma Gen-E, Ford E-Tourneo Courier and new Nissan Leaf on the top-tier list.
To be eligible, EVs must meet strict criteria: RRP under £37,000, 100-mile range minimum, three-year/60,000-mile warranty, and battery cover for eight years or 100,000 miles. Manufacturers must also meet verified science-based targets and embodied-carbon thresholds.

Pricing after the grant includes the Alpine A290 from £30,245, Renault 4 from £23,445 and Renault 5 (Comfort Range) from £23,945; Urban Range still receives the £1,500 grant
Renault Group UK MD Adam Wood said the top-tier award “recognised our investment in made-in-Europe battery manufacturing” and would boost already “rising EV sales”.
The Autumn Budget confirmed £1.3bn to extend the grant for another year, plus £200m to expand the public charging network and a £25m scheme to support home charging for households without driveways.
