Nissan updates the Ariya with improved comfort and smarter EV tech

Nissan has refreshed the Ariya for 2026, focusing less on dramatic changes and more on the areas everyday EV drivers are most likely to notice during regular use.

The updated Ariya gets revised styling inspired by the newer Nissan Leaf, alongside upgraded infotainment and changes aimed at improving long-distance comfort.

Inside, the biggest update is the introduction of Nissan’s latest Google-based infotainment system. For company car drivers, that should make route planning and charging stops easier to manage, with Google Maps able to automatically build charging into journeys and prepare the battery in advance for faster rapid charging.

Nissan has also revised the suspension and adjusted the calibration of its ProPilot driver assistance system, with the goal of making motorway driving smoother and reducing vibrations over longer distances.

The Ariya range itself has been simplified down to two versions. Entry-level Engage+ models use a 63kWh battery, while the higher-spec Advance gets a larger 87kWh pack for longer range driving.

Another practical addition is Vehicle-to-Load capability, allowing the Ariya to power external devices directly from the car, useful for anything from charging laptops to powering equipment away from home.

Prices are expected to start from around £37,000 when ordering opens in June, with first UK deliveries due in September.
