Electric vehicle (EV) charging provider Pod Point has rebranded as Pod and launched a new home charging service called Pod Drive, designed to lower upfront costs and reward smart charging.
Pod Drive offers customers a home charger, installation, and a 48-hour service level agreement for just £99 upfront and a £40 monthly subscription. The included Solo 3S charger supports smart charging, where users set a desired charge level and deadline – like 100% by 7am – allowing Pod to optimise charging times.
Customers continue to pay their usual energy bill to their chosen supplier, while Pod reimburses them for up to 7500 ‘smart-charged’ miles a year, paid at a rate of 2.3p per mile – totalling over £170 in annual cashback.
This marks the first major offering under the new Pod identity, as the company expands from hardware to full-service EV charging solutions. Pod Point hardware will retain its name under the broader Pod brand.
Pod CEO Melanie Lane said the company is working on more services to simplify electrification for busy households and is set to announce partnerships with major retailers, brands, and OEMs including Mazda, with a continued focus on its relationship with Tesco.
