Save £3,750: the latest models approved for the Electric Car Grant

Two more electric models have joined the UK Government’s Electric Car Grant (ECG) scheme this week, giving fleets additional ways to cut upfront costs while moving into EVs.

The headline addition is the Renault Scenic E-Tech, which now qualifies for the top-tier £3,750 grant. That brings its starting price down to £33,245, making it one of the more competitive options in the family EV space. For fleet drivers, it’s a practical, everyday SUV – enough room for passengers, shopping or weekend gear, with the kind of range and comfort suited to longer commutes or mixed-use driving.

Also joining the scheme is the Kia EV2 ‘First Edition’, which qualifies for the £1,500 grant. That reduces its price to £26,995, positioning it as a more accessible entry point into EV driving. With around 190 miles of range and fast-charging capability, it fits well with urban or shorter-distance use – ideal for predictable daily journeys.

The ECG is available to both retail and fleet customers, with eligibility based on criteria including price (under £37,000), minimum range and manufacturer sustainability standards.
