By helping to optimise the use of vehicles for corporate car sharing, Targa Telematics says its software can save companies hundreds of thousands of pounds a year.
Targa Telematics, a leading global player in IoT and connected mobility solutions, has introduced saturation analysis to enhance corporate car sharing. This new feature analyses vehicle utilisation, enabling fleets and mobility managers to optimise the number of vehicles based on real business transport needs.
By leveraging data from individual vehicles, saturation analysis ensures shared vehicle allocation matches actual usage, improving efficiency, reducing costs and avoiding waste. It also provides insights into usage patterns, allowing for better allocation of transport resources across company offices to meet internal demand.
In a data-driven world, this approach maximises service levels and investment value by ensuring decisions are based on objective information and real needs.
Targa Telematics analysed real-world cases and found its new functionality can reduce fleet size significantly. In a large corporate car-sharing fleet of over 1000 vehicles, it enabled a 16% reduction, saving over £500,000 annually.
Meanwhile, in a medium-sized fleet of around 300 vehicles, the software allowed a fleet size reduction of 22%, achieving savings of approximately £210,000.

FleetWise research shows that 42% of fleets believe there will be growing demand for car-sharing in the next 12 months.
