Volkswagen has confirmed the new Tayron SUV will be priced from £39,850 when it goes on sale this month.
Positioned between the Tiguan and Touareg, the Tayron replaces the Tiguan Allspace and offers five- or seven-seat configurations. Built on the MQB Evo platform shared with the new Passat and Tiguan, the Tayron features a Tiguan-inspired interior, including a 12.9-inch central infotainment screen.
Six engine options include a 1.5-litre 148bhp mild hybrid petrol, a 2.0-litre diesel with 148bhp, and 2.0-litre petrol engines with 202bhp or 260bhp. The Tayron eHybrid plug-in models deliver 202bhp or 270bhp and offer a 62-mile electric range from a 19.7kWh battery.
Available trims are Life, Match (eHybrid only), Elegance, R-Line, and R-Line Edition (eHybrid only). Standard features include LED headlights, nine airbags, three-zone air conditioning, DCC Pro adaptive chassis control (eHybrid and TSI), and advanced driver assist systems.
Optional upgrades include IQ.LIGHT HD matrix headlights, a 15-inch infotainment screen and a Harman-Kardon sound system.
