Xpeng targets posh people carrier market with X9 EV

Xpeng will expand its UK line-up later this year with the launch of the X9, a premium all-electric people carrier aimed at large families, executive transport providers and chauffeur fleets.

Priced from £74,990, the seven-seat MPV combines long-distance capability with ultra-fast charging, offering a choice of three powertrains and a maximum WLTP range of 382 miles.

Built on an 800V electrical architecture, the X9 supports charging speeds of up to 542kW, allowing a 10% to 80% recharge in just 12 minutes where compatible infrastructure is available, helping minimise downtime on longer journeys.

The Standard Range and Long Range models use a 320PS front-wheel-drive powertrain, delivering ranges of 332 miles and 382 miles respectively. A flagship all-wheel-drive version produces 503PS, covers up to 360 miles on a charge and completes 0-62mph in 5.9 seconds.

Inside, the X9 features a seven-seat "lounge concept" cabin designed to maximise passenger comfort, with Xpeng promising a high level of technology and convenience features as standard.

For fleets operating executive transport, airport transfers or VIP shuttle services, the X9 offers an alternative to traditional luxury MPVs, combining generous passenger space with long range, rapid charging and zero-emission operation. UK deliveries are scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2026.
