Amazon has placed its largest-ever order for battery-electric heavy goods vehicles (eHGVs), choosing to add over 200 Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 trucks to its delivery fleet. It's the biggest electric truck order in Mercedes-Benz Trucks' history, and more than 140 of these vehicles will operate within Amazon's UK network, with the remainder in Germany.
They're expected to transport over 300 million packages annually in the UK, and these trucks will be used on high-mileage routes linking fulfilment centres, sorting centres and delivery stations.
