BYD confirms UK pricing for new Seal 6 DM-i plug-in hybrid range

BYD has announced UK pricing and specifications for its new Seal 6 DM-i plug-in hybrid models, available now in saloon and estate bodystyles.

The range opens at £33,990 for the saloon and £34,990 for the estate, marking BYD’s first estate model to launch in Europe. Two trims are available, Boost and Comfort, each powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine combined with electric drive.

The Comfort variant is positioned as the most tax-efficient choice for fleet and company car drivers. With a 62–65-mile WLTP electric range and 34–38g/km CO₂, it qualifies for a 9% Benefit-in-Kind (BiK) rate in both bodystyles. The Boost version, equipped with a smaller 10kWh battery and higher emissions (above 50g/km), falls into the 18% BiK band.

Power outputs are rated at 184PS for Boost and 214PS for Comfort, both driving the front wheels — a distinction from the fully electric Seal, which is available with rear- or all-wheel-drive.

The Seal 6 DM-i Touring offers a practical 500-litre boot, expanding to 1,535 litres with the rear seats folded via quick-release handles. A power tailgate is fitted as standard across the range.

With its mix of long electric range, low BiK rates, and competitive pricing, the Seal 6 DM-i strengthens BYD’s appeal to business and fleet buyers looking for low-emission flexibility without switching to full electric.
