Jaecoo has opened UK order books for its new flagship SUV, the Jaecoo 8, with prices starting from £45,500 ahead of first deliveries in May.
Positioned to compete with large family SUVs such as the Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Sorento, but perhaps as luxurious as an Audi Q7 which goes for nearly £30k more, the Jaecoo 8 is offered in both six- and seven-seat layouts. The six-seat Executive version focuses on comfort with heated, ventilated and massaging captain’s chairs in the first and second row, while the seven-seat Luxury model is aimed more at practicality.

All versions use a plug-in hybrid system producing 428PS, with an electric-only driving range of up to 83 miles. That level of EV capability means many daily journeys could be completed without using petrol.
The Jaecoo 8 also leans into rugged credentials, with locking differentials to help maintain grip on slippery or uneven surfaces, plus adaptive terrain modes and a 600mm wading depth.
Standard equipment includes dual 12.3-inch displays, wireless smartphone connectivity, a Sony 14-speaker audio system and 19 driver-assistance features.
