Licence Check has passed two major milestones that highlight how digital compliance tools are becoming essential for fleet operators managing driver risk.
The company’s DAVIS (Driver and Vehicle Information Solution) platform completed 1.5 million licence checks in 2025, while the number of drivers monitored on the system surpassed one million for the first time.
Used by more than 4,500 business customers, the platform automatically verifies driver licences with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency, helping organisations ensure employees remain legally entitled to drive.
For fleets, this kind of automation removes a major administrative burden while reducing compliance risk, particularly for organisations operating large or dispersed driver populations.
The platform is also increasingly used to manage grey fleet drivers – employees using their own vehicles for work. Services such as Licence Check’s grey fleet licence verification help businesses confirm drivers have valid licences and appropriate documentation.
FleetWise recently highlighted the growing risks associated with grey fleet management.
Looking ahead, Licence Check expects further growth as its sister business DriverCheck migrates customers onto the DAVIS platform, potentially increasing annual licence checks to more than 2.2 million.
Alongside compliance tools, the platform also offers driver coaching via the DAVIS Coaching app, delivering short training modules designed to improve driver behaviour and reduce risk. DAVIS Licence Check is a FleetWise Trusted Brand, find out why.
