Kia PV7 electric van teased ahead of reveal at IAA Transportation show

The Kia PV7 has been teased ahead of its official unveiling at the IAA Transportation show in Hannover on 14 September 2026, giving business fleets more space and practicality over the PV5. 

Kia itself says the PV7 will meet the 'evolving needs' of business customers across a wider range of lifestyle and commercial uses.

It's set to be longer than the PV5, yet will sit on the same E-GMP.S platform. This is an adapted version of the E-GMP chassis, which underpins cars such as the KIA EV6, Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6. 

Powertrain details haven't been announced, but we can expect the PV7 to use similarly-sized battery packs and electric motors as the PV5, which begins with a 51.5kWh setup with a claimed 183-mile range (WLTP). The top spec 71.2kWh PV5 ups that to 256-miles. 

Payload for the PV5 is between 665kg to 790kg, depending on the variant. Therefore, we can expect the PV7 to increase that threshold, allowing for larger and heavier items to be accommodated. 

For fleets, the PV7 represents more practicality for a well-received and proven electric vehicle platform which boasts great versatility. So far in the PV5's life, it's been available as a passenger family vehicle and a light commercial vehicle. Many businesses have converted them into food and drinks vans, to which the PV7 will offer more space for.
