Pullman Fleet Solutions has introduced a new rapid maintenance unit (RMU) model designed to bring fully operational fleet workshops online in a matter of weeks.
The concept aims to help fleets avoid the long lead times typically associated with building new service facilities. Pullman says a complete workshop, including technicians, systems and specialist equipment, can be operational in around two weeks.
The first example has been launched in Hixon, developed in partnership with DMN Fleet Services. The site already has significant volumes of maintenance work scheduled and forms part of a wider rollout planned across the UK.
Each RMU offers servicing, repair and maintenance, MOT preparation and testing, and advanced diagnostics. Facilities are designed to support cars, vans and HGVs, allowing mixed fleets to consolidate servicing with a single provider.
The move reflects wider industry efforts to reduce vehicle downtime and improve maintenance access. In January, FleetWise reported how a new repair network, Precision Repair Group, is aiming to address fragmented fleet repair coverage and long vehicle-off-road times.
