Toyota and Lexus appoint Matt Docksey as new UK fleet chief

Toyota GB has appointed Matt Docksey as its new general manager of fleet, leading the teams responsible for fleet business across Toyota, Lexus and Toyota Professional light commercial vehicles.

The appointment comes as Toyota continues to strengthen its position in the UK fleet market, with the brand establishing itself among the top five fleet brands in the latest Fleet Power rankings.

Docksey steps into the role following a 14-year career with Toyota, which began with a student placement in 2012. Most recently, he was senior manager within Toyota’s used vehicle and remarketing operation, having previously held roles spanning Lexus, product marketing, systems and network sales.

He succeeds Paul Fricker, who has been promoted to director of Toyota GB’s operations division as part of a wider corporate restructure.

In his new role, Docksey will focus on developing the fleet propositions across Toyota and Lexus, while supporting the manufacturer’s multi-path powertrain strategy covering hybrid, plug-in hybrid, battery electric and diesel LCV models.

Docksey said the breadth of the Toyota, Lexus and Toyota Professional ranges enables fleets to select vehicles and powertrains around their individual operational requirements and business priorities.

He also highlighted Toyota’s ambition to offer fleets support beyond the vehicle itself, bringing together finance and insurance through Toyota Financial Services, Kinto and Toyota Insurance Services, alongside vehicle preparation and conversion capabilities at Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK.

Docksey said the business intends to build its presence across the fleet market, serving customers ranging from major operators and SMEs to smaller businesses and fleets requiring specialist vehicle conversions.
