Toyota launches all-electric C-HR+ with 378-mile range

Toyota has revealed the C-HR+, an all-electric version of its popular mid-size SUV, set to arrive in the UK later this year with a range of up to 378 miles.

The C-HR+ will launch with two battery choices: a 77kWh long-range pack producing 224ps and a smaller 57.7kWh option delivering 165ps and a range of 283 miles. Both include an onboard AC charger, with higher-grade models benefiting from a faster 22kW unit that halves charging times. Using a DC rapid charger, the vehicle can charge from 10%–80% in around 30 minutes, even in sub-zero conditions, thanks to battery pre-conditioning.

Built on Toyota’s e-TNGA electric platform – shared with the bZ4X – the new SUV offers a 30% increase in rigidity and a lower centre of gravity for improved handling. Despite these refinements, ground clearance remains at 185mm, keeping its SUV practicality intact.

All versions will include heated front seats and steering wheel, a 14-inch infotainment display, and the latest Toyota Safety Sense suite. Higher trims add lane change assist, cross-traffic alert, and panoramic parking features, positioning the C-HR+ as one of the most technically advanced compact EV SUVs in its class.

According to the latest 360 Media Group Brand Tracker, Toyota remains one of the best-positioned manufacturers to help fleets meet carbon reduction and net-zero targets by 2030 — and the arrival of the C-HR+ strengthens that status by expanding the brand’s all-electric offering alongside hybrid and plug-in options.
