Toyota prices hybrid Land Cruiser from £80k ahead of March deliveries

Toyota has confirmed UK pricing for its first electrified Land Cruiser, with the new mild-hybrid model starting at £80,740 and first customer deliveries scheduled for March 2026.

The latest generation pairs the familiar 2.8-litre turbodiesel and eight-speed automatic with a 48V electric motor-generator, lithium-ion hybrid battery, and a DC-DC converter. Toyota says all components have been engineered to cope with harsh operating environments, retaining the model’s core capabilities — including a 700mm wading depth.

The switch to the hybrid system sees Land Cruiser offered solely as a five-seat model, with CO₂ figures pending homologation. Toyota has also confirmed that a commercial variant remains in development for fleet customers, following its initial announcement earlier this year.

The compact 48V setup delivers up to 12kW of added power and 65Nm of torque at launch, supported by a 13-cell, 4.3Ah battery weighing 7.6kg. The system captures energy during deceleration to assist stop–start operation and boost low-speed acceleration. All high-voltage parts are protected against water ingress, while dust-resistant cooling paths are designed for durability in off-road conditions.

Toyota says the hybrid system’s belt-driven motor-generator — with a reinforced tensioner and high-strength belts — maintains performance during heavy load, engine restarts, and deep-water running.
