A study by Ayvens has revealed that one-third of fleets are slowing their ZEV transition plans due to inconsistent Government policies.
250 fleet decision-makers from some of the largest fleets in the UK (250 vehicles+) were surveyed, and the Ayvens’ research found that a number of key issues are hindering fleets’ transition efforts. The data revealed that…
• 51% are facing technology-adoption difficulties
• 47% are facing supply chain issues
• 48% are citing limited EV options: 48%
• 43% see charging infrastructure as an issue
• 37% feel that regulations are unclear
On a more positive note, 47% of fleets who have transitioned to EVs report that it has positively impacted their business.
43% of respondents also say they would ‘definitely accelerate their electrification efforts’ if there was more consistent regulatory output from the government.
This positivity may be driven by the fact that 49% of EV fleets have seen their costs reduced, while 56% have experienced better employee engagement and retention. 56% of those surveyed also saw an improvement in their brand image.
The Ayvens research also revealed that 46% of fleets that have switched to EVs are more likely to invest in renewable energy, driver training and route planning (both 48%) to support their ZEV transition.
