BMW adds entry-level iX3 with 395-mile range

BMW has introduced a more accessible version of its electric SUV with the iX3 40, priced from £53,250 and arriving in the UK in summer 2026.

For company car drivers, the key draw is usability. The iX3 40 offers up to 395 miles of range (WLTP), putting it broadly in line with rivals like the Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric and ahead of many versions of the Tesla Model Y. That means most drivers can get through a full working week without needing to charge.

When you do need to top up, its 800V system can add around 186 miles in 10 minutes, or charge from 10-80% in about 21 minutes, faster than many alternatives in this price bracket.

Performance is solid but sensible, with 320 hp and a 0-62 mph time of 5.9 seconds, making motorway driving easy without feeling excessive.
