BMW has rolled out a series of efficiency upgrades for the iX1 and iX2, allowing both electric SUVs to travel further on a single charge.
From March 2026 production, the most efficient versions of both models will deliver up to 318 miles of range on the WLTP cycle. This represents a notable improvement on the current maximum of 293 miles, strengthening the cars’ appeal for drivers covering higher mileages or relying on public charging.

The updated eDrive20 variants of the iX1 and iX2 now offer the longest range at 318 miles. Meanwhile, the dual motor iX1 xDrive30 achieves 288 miles, with the iX2 xDrive30 slightly higher at 294 miles.
BMW says the gains come from the introduction of silicon carbide semiconductor components within the power electronics, improving energy efficiency. Similar technology updates have already been applied to the Mini Countryman and the BMW i5.
Alongside the technical changes, all BMW models built from February 2026 will feature the brand’s new roundel and updated M logo, first seen on the upcoming iX3.
