Toyota’s bigger bZ4X Touring feels shaped by driver feedback

Toyota bZ4X Touring looks like Toyota has taken one of the biggest complaints about the standard bZ4X and simply fixed it.

The original car always felt comfortable and easygoing enough for everyday driving, but the boot was surprisingly small for something aimed at families. The new Touring changes that completely.

Boot space jumps to 669 litres, putting it firmly into proper family-car territory. For company car drivers, that means the sort of practicality people actually notice day to day: easier airport runs, room for pushchairs or sports kit, and less compromise when loading up for weekends away.

Toyota has also leaned into the lifestyle angle. Roof rails come as standard, there’s more rear headroom, and the overall shape feels more estate-like than many bulky SUVs currently on the market.

On the road, it sounds like comfort remains the priority rather than sporty handling, which will probably suit most higher-mileage drivers just fine. The smaller-wheel versions are reportedly particularly smooth and quiet over longer journeys.

Range sits at up to 366 miles in front-wheel-drive form, while the cabin now feels more polished and easier to live with than before. First deliveries of the updated bZ4X are due in July.
