Zeekr becomes first new Chinese car brand to land in the UK in 2026

It has taken just over a week of 2026 for the first new Chinese manufacturer to arrive in the UK, with Zeekr confirming plans to bring its latest electric model, the 7GT, to British roads.

Launched in Europe at the Brussels Motor Show, the Zeekr 7GT is priced from €45,990, which equates to around £39,500 at current exchange rates. The brand has confirmed the model will be available in the UK, although exact on-sale timings have yet to be announced.

Zeekr is owned by Geely, one of the world’s largest automotive groups, whose portfolio also includes Volvo Cars, Polestar, Lotus and LEVC. That backing gives the newcomer significant scale, investment and technical depth as it expands into Europe.

The 7GT is built on an 800V platform, offered with 75kWh or 100kWh batteries, and supports ultra-rapid charging of up to 480kW, enabling a 10–80% charge in as little as 13 minutes. Performance is equally strong, with 0–100 km/h in up to 3.3 seconds, seating for five and 456 litres of boot space.

With UK availability confirmed and more models expected to follow, Zeekr’s arrival underlines just how quickly Chinese brands are moving into the European and fleet landscape.
