Xpeng sets up own UK retail network ahead of two new model launches

Chinese car maker, Xpeng has moved its UK sales operations in-house, moving away from importer, International Motors. This means the brand will have direct ownership and strategic responsibility of its presence in the UK. Furthermore, fleets will have a choice of three models to choose from by 2027.

Xpeng entered the UK market in February 2025 with the G6, which rivalled the Tesla Model Y. International Motors - which imports Subaru and Isuzu vehicles - said it will continue 'operational services', indicating Xpeng will rely on IM's expertise of market distribution. 

As of now, Xpeng has 48 dealers across Great Britain and has sold around 1,800 G6 SUVs, which has been its sole model for the UK market. In the coming months, it aims to introduce the L03 crossover and the X9 MPV. 

The L03 is a coupe-style crossover available with either a 58.3kWh or 71.2kWh battery pack in single motor (rear-wheel-drive) or dual motor (all-wheel-drive) configurations. Maximum claimed range is 323-miles (WLTP). 

Pricing for the L03 hasn't been announced for the UK market, but at a starting price of 32,000 Euros across Europe, it would fall in-line with cars such as the Skoda Enyaq and Ford Explorer.

The X9 MPV is poised to take on luxury rivals such as the Mercedes-Benz VLE, Lexus LM and the Denza D9. It's available across Europe with both a 94.8kWh and 110kWh battery packs with a maximum claimed range of 382-miles (WLTP). Across the continent, it currently starts from around 77,000 Euros. 

For fleets, this represents Xpeng catering for different needs for company car drivers and businesses looking for a competitively-priced EV for their fleets. The X9 has the potential to compete in the airport taxi world, whereas the L03 is a competitively-priced challenger in the family SUV segment.

Xpeng gaining more control over its UK network indicates its intention to expand its portfolio and aim for a higher volume of fleet and private registrations. It follows the increase of Chinese car presence by tempting company car drivers more with strong warranties, competitive pricing and equipment levels, as well as potent EV technology.
