Chery has revealed its new Tiggo 9 plug-in hybrid, a flagship seven-seat SUV combining high performance, long electric range, and luxury detailing. Set to launch in December 2025 from £43,105, the Tiggo 9 expands Chery’s fast-growing electrified line-up.
Powered by a 1.5-litre turbo engine and twin electric motors, the hybrid system produces 428PS and 580Nm, achieving 0–62mph in 5.4 seconds. Its 34.5kWh battery delivers up to 91 miles of electric-only driving and supports 71kW DC rapid charging, restoring 30–80% in just 18 minutes. The vehicle also includes 6.6kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality for external power use.
Inside, the Tiggo 9 features heated, ventilated, and massaging eco-leather seats, a 15.6-inch infotainment screen, HUD, and 14-speaker Sony system.
The unveiling follows Chery’s breakthrough in solid-state battery technology, recently reported by FleetWise, with energy density reaching 600 Wh/kg — a development expected to shape future electric models across its brands, including Omoda and Jaecoo.
