DS brings back its SUV with 460-mile range – but is £40k enough to compete?

DS is replacing the DS7 with a new model called the No7, and the headline is simple – up to 460 miles of electric range, which puts it right up there with the longest-range SUVs in this class.

It’s expected to start from around £40,000, placing it against cars like the BMW X1 and Audi Q3, but with a clear focus on comfort and long-distance usability rather than outright sportiness.

The main version for fleets will be the E-TENSE EV. It uses a 97.2kWh battery, with front- and all-wheel drive options and power up to 350hp. In real terms, that means fewer charging stops and more flexibility if the car is used for longer or mixed journeys.

If you’re not ready to go fully electric, there’s also a hybrid version with emissions from 121g/km, using a familiar 1.2-litre petrol setup.

The No7 is slightly larger than the DS7, with more rear space and a continued focus on ride comfort, which is where DS is trying to stand out.

The No7 is due in the UK later this year.
