Omoda & Jaecoo UK rank as third largest automotive group in July

The Omoda & Jaecoo UK group registered 8,905 vehicles in July, making it the third largest-selling automotive firm that month, according to figures by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).

This rapid growth was led by the popular Jaecoo 7 SUV, in which 2,709 examples were registered, followed by its smaller sibling, the Jaecoo 5, delivering a strong result of 2,481 registrations.

Following the Jaecoo models is the Omoda 5, of which 1,815 examples were registered. This includes all powertrain types from the petrol, hybrid and electric variants.

Total Jaecoo and Omoda vehicle registrations currently stand at 61,733 units, with Jaecoo taking 39,569 of that share and Omoda at 22,164.

The figures show that demand for the brands has increased since their respective introductions to the UK market. Omoda entered in August 2024 whereas Jaecoo entered in January 2025.

For fleets, this represents growing appeal and consumer trust for value-based Chinese vehicles, despite Jaecoo only being in the UK for 18-months. The success of these manufacturers correlates to Chinese manufacturers offering electrified vehicles at more competitive prices than established rivals from Europe and Japan, influencing both fleets and private buyers.
