Volvo EV drivers will soon be able to use Tesla Superchargers without the Tesla app

Volvo Cars is making life easier for its EV drivers by integrating Tesla Superchargers directly into the Volvo app across Europe from later this year.

From Q4 2026, drivers of models including the Volvo EX30, Volvo EX40 and Volvo EX90 will be able to find, start and pay for charging sessions at more than 20,000 Tesla Supercharger points without needing to open the Tesla app separately.

Instead of juggling multiple charging accounts and payment systems, Volvo drivers will be able to manage charging through one familiar platform while gaining access to one of Europe’s most reliable rapid charging networks.

The move significantly expands Volvo’s charging ecosystem, which already includes access to more than 1.2 million charging points across Europe.

Importantly, this is less about adding entirely new chargers and more about simplifying the experience around them. Tesla’s Supercharger network has already been open to many non-Tesla EVs for years, but this integration removes another layer of friction for drivers regularly covering long motorway journeys.

For fleets still worried about charging convenience, developments like this matter. As charging networks become more connected and software becomes smarter, the day-to-day EV experience is starting to feel much closer to the simplicity drivers expect from traditional refuelling.
