Chery has confirmed pricing for its new Tiggo 4 hybrid SUV, starting from just £19,995, which immediately puts it among the cheapest electrified SUVs on sale in the UK.
That’s significant, because most rivals in this space, like the Nissan Qashqai or Toyota Yaris Cross, tend to sit closer to, or above, the £25k mark once specced.
The Tiggo 4 uses a 1.5-litre petrol engine with hybrid assistance, delivering 204PS and around 53mpg. In everyday use, it should feel familiar if you’ve driven a hybrid before: smooth and quiet in stop-start traffic, responsive pulling away from lights, then switching over to petrol power more noticeably on faster A-roads or longer motorway runs. There’s no need to plug in, so it’s easy to run without changing how you drive.

Two trims are available. The entry-level Aspire (£19,995) covers the basics, including a rear camera and digital displays, while the Summit (£21,995) adds features like a 360° camera, eco-leather seats and an electric driver’s seat.
Inside, all models get dual 12.3-inch screens and wireless smartphone connectivity.
For fleets or cost-conscious drivers, the appeal is straightforward – a practical SUV with hybrid efficiency at a price that undercuts most of the market.
Deliveries are expected this summer.
