LEPAS builds fleet support into its UK launch

New Chinese manufacturer LEPAS is establishing a dedicated UK fleet operation rather than treating business sales as an addition to its retail launch.

The Chery-owned brand has appointed Tim Whitworth as National Leasing Manager, with responsibility for creating its fleet operation and commercial partnerships from the ground up. LEPAS is targeting around 60 UK dealerships by the end of 2026 and 90 by the end of 2027.

For fleet managers, that early commitment matters.

New brands need more than competitive vehicles to earn a place on choice lists. Leasing relationships, account support, dealer coverage, aftersales capability and clear fleet terms are equally important to reducing procurement risk.

LEPAS joins OMODA, JAECOO and Chery in demonstrating how quickly Chinese manufacturers are building dedicated UK infrastructure.

FleetWise has already covered the LEPAS L8 itself, so the important development now is the support being put behind it.

Managers considering emerging manufacturers should assess the complete fleet proposition (not simply vehicle specification) and monitor how rapidly leasing availability and service coverage develop.
