Mitsubishi is set to return to the UK market next year, ending a five-year hiatus after withdrawing from European new car sales in 2020. The brand’s re-entry will be managed by International Motors, which has overseen Mitsubishi aftersales since acquiring the parts and service franchise in 2021.
While Mitsubishi halted European model development in 2020, production continued elsewhere — with several models, including Renault-based platforms, still sold across global markets. The UK relaunch will draw from this international line-up, with a focus on the company’s latest four-wheel-drive and hybrid vehicles.
Retail recruitment is already under way, with new sales outlets set to complement an established aftersales network of more than 100 sites. Customer deliveries are scheduled to begin in summer 2026.
Although Mitsubishi has yet to confirm which vehicles will be offered in the UK, the brand has recently unveiled its all-electric Eclipse Cross for Europe — a model built on the Renault Scenic E-Tech platform.
“We’re delighted to be introducing exciting new Mitsubishi vehicles to our loyal UK customers,” said Sharon Townsend, Head of Mitsubishi Motors in the UK. “Over the past few years, we’ve continued to see enthusiasm for the brand, which has strongly influenced this decision.”
Further information on UK specifications, pricing and model names is expected closer to launch.
