Kia has expanded its performance GT portfolio by adding it to three electric models, the EV3, EV4 and EV5. The move gives fleets the opportunity to order faster, more driver-focused EVs from the Korean marque.
The GT models will sit at the top of the range for all three Kia models, placing them above the lesser GT-Line and GT-Line S trims. The GT models are equipped with dual motor powertrains sporting all-wheel-drive (AWD) and what Kia calls 'Virtual Gear Shifts', which is designed to simulate changing gears on a semi-automatic gearbox.

The GT versions up the power on each model; the EV3 and EV4 GT will receive 288hp - up from 204hp in GT-Line form. The EV5 GT, on the other hand, boosts that to 301hp, up from 265hp in GT-Line S form.
0-60mph takes as little as 5.5-seconds for the EV4 GT and 5.9-seconds for the heavier EV5 GT. All three use 81.4kWh battery packs with a maximum claimed WLTP range of up to 311-miles (EV4 GT). Kia also claims charging from 10-80% takes as little as 30-minutes when hooked up to a rapid DC charger.

UK pricing and hasn't been announced yet. But with the top specifications of each car starting at £43,955 (EV3), £44,845 (EV4) and £51,045 (EV5), respectively, we can expect the top-level GT variants to be priced firmly above to reflect the increased performance.
Growing the GT portfolio outside the EV6 means Kia's sporty electric cars are now more accessible to fleets looking for practical performance. The GT additions answer the wishes of company car drivers who perhaps thought existing Kia EVs - or Hyundai equivalents - fell slightly short on performance.
