Perx – New sal sac scheme combines EV, charger and solar

Covase has unveiled Perx, a new salary sacrifice scheme that blends electric vehicles (EVs) with home charging, solar panels and battery storage in a single, flexible package. Designed to streamline EV adoption for both employers and employees, Perx eliminates the need to juggle multiple providers by offering a bundled, full-service solution.

Simon Homer, co-founder and managing director of Covase Fleet Management, said: “We’ve been aware of salary sacrifice for a long time, but always felt the market was saturated with similar offerings. We didn’t want to enter the space unless we could do something different – Perx is our answer to that.”

Covase, a leasing broker with around 1,000 vehicles under management, already operates on a structured service model rather than transactional brokerage. Perx builds on this by offering a modular approach – starting with an EV and charger, with optional solar and storage add-ons. Early demand has come from drivers, including those who already have EVs through other schemes, but want to add home energy solutions.

The Perx platform can also track ESG data such as energy use and carbon output. Solar partners include Tesla and Eco-Flow, with Covase offering full support from assessment to installation and maintenance. Potential tax savings could reach £8000 per driver, with up to 40 tonnes of carbon saved.

Initially launching across Covase’s client base – including charities and facilities firms – the company hopes Perx will spark conversations with new audiences, especially those managing vehicle needs internally without external fleet support.
