Arnold Clark Charge opens 60th UK site with 55p per kWh ultra rapid hub

Arnold Clark Charge has reached 60 public charging locations following the launch of a new ultra rapid hub in Wolverhampton.

The site, based at the Arnold Clark Motorstore at Pantheon Park, Wednesfield Way, features six ultra rapid chargers and is open to all EV drivers. For fleets operating in the Midlands corridor, the key detail is pricing. Charging is set at 55p per kWh, compared with a current UK ultra rapid average of 76p per kWh, offering a meaningful reduction in public charging costs.

The chargers are designed for quick top ups to reduce vehicle downtime, supporting operational efficiency for business drivers covering regional routes. Payment can be made via the Arnold Clark app, roaming partners or contactless at the unit.

Pablo Levi, Group Sustainability Manager at Arnold Clark, said: “By investing in ultra-rapid charging at important locations like this, we’re supporting the shift to electric vehicles while delivering tangible benefits for drivers and local communities.”

The network was recently named ‘Up-and-Coming Rapid/Ultra-rapid EV Charging Network’ at the Zapmap 2025 Awards.
